← Wiki HomeUploading Guidelines

This is a non-exhaustive list of attributes we look for to determine if a post is a good fit here. Note that not every situation will be listed here, and previous (possibly incorrect) approvals do not guarantee future approvals. Each post is judged individually (unless part of a set).

Ensure you have understood our Code of Conduct, as many rules there (Posting Abuse in particular) apply to posts.

Good Things to Upload

  • Art or animations that contain "furry characters - i.e. anthropomorphic or feral animals.
    • Humanoid characters with animal ears ("kemonomimi") or similar traits are not considered relevant.
    • In general posts should focus on male characters - be they feminine or not.
  • Art you created, commissioned, or otherwise asked for permission to post here.
  • High quality photographs (or scans) of traditional artwork or fursuits.
    • Avoid pictures taken from phones with poor lighting, visible binder spirals, motion blur, etc.
    • Photo edits/manipulations are okay as long as any suggestive parts of real humans remain covered and are not interacted with.
    • Fursuit images must not contain any human genitalia or real body parts in relation to fetishes (such as bare feet or breasts).
      • Drawovers/paintovers of originally explicit photos are welcome as long as the real genitalia is no longer visible.
      • Sex/masturbation is not allowed, no matter what is or isn't showing.
      • Simple grinding/contact will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Sets of images created from a singular base are only allowed in limited quantities of 20 at a time.
    • When deleting posts that exceed this limit, we will try to make our best judgement call on which posts should stay. Bar that, the later uploaded posts will be deleted first.
    • This only includes bases colored by the artist, we do not accept images of free bases colored by third parties.

Bad Things to Upload

  • Screen Captures - Screenshots from games, still images from movies, clips from YouTube, etc.
    • This includes content created in sandboxes like Second Life, Minecraft, and similar.
    • This also includes any game assets.
  • Memes / Image Macros - Any pre-existing image with text added.
    • If the image has been drawn specifically for that meme, then it's probably fine.
  • Small Images - Anything below 200px in either direction is likely to be deleted.
  • Advertisements - Low quality ads without artistic value.
    • Images with only a small part of advertising on them (such as a patreon link) are okay.
    • Adopts, character auctions, YCH auctions, or any other types of ads for auctions are not permitted.
  • Irrelevant Photographs - Any photograph that isn't of traditional artwork or does not contain furry characters.
    • Photos of statues, plushies, dakimakura, tattoos, graffiti, panted plates, etc. are all irrelevant.
    • See the text above for information on pictures of fursuits.
  • Low Quality Submissions - Highly visible compression artifacts (includes glaze), scribbles, low quality/poorly lit photos/videos, computer generated mosaics, cropped images, anatomical diagrams, bad edits, screenshots, artificial upscales, AI/neural network edits, etc.
    • Glazing is decided on a case-by-case basis, if it's less noticable it may be allowed. If a version without glazing is available, that version wil be preferred.
    • Cropped images are allowed if they are by the artist, and an original either doesn't exist, or it's higher quality than the original.
    • Artificial upscales include anything like "normal" upscaling, waifu2x, neural network upscales, and similar.
    • Sensible integer upscaling with nearest neighbor (a.k.a. without smoothing filters) is permitted for pixel artwork that would otherwise be too small to see well.
  • AI Generated Content - No AI generated, or AI assisted artwork.
    • The current exceptions are audio, backgrounds (treated like using a photo as a background, quality rules apply), and for artwork that references but does not directly use AI generated content.
  • Underage Artists - Do not knowingly or repeatedly upload content from artists that are under the age of 18.
    • This applies to any pieces they made while underage forever, regardless of their current age. If they made a piece when they were 17 but they're 20 now, it will still be deleted.
  • Unofficially Colored bases - Bases not colored by the creator of the base. See Edits for posting bases colored by the base creator.
  • Third Party Watermarks - Think of watermarks like iFunny, 9gag, etc. Commissioner watermarks also fall under this, avoid them if possible.
  • Previously Deleted Content - You should contact the user that deleted the post to appeal the deletion instead. *
  • Paysite Content - Any paid content that is under 2 years old is not permitted. Make sure to check the Avoid Posting list for possible conditions for some artists. *
  • DNP Content - Anything created by an artist on our Avoid Posting list. *
    • If you have permission to post something from an artist that is on our DNP list, please provide us with proof. This can be done beforehand by contacting an Approver or after the post is deleted.
  • Real Pornorgraphy - Real pornography featuring regular humans or real animals is not allowed under any circumstance. *
  • Traced Images - Referencing is fine, but traces are not allowed.

Any of the above may get you a record if done repeatedly. Anything marked with * will almost always get you a record.
You will not be given a record for DNP if you flag the post yourself, or it's deleted more than 3 months after upload.

Quality Standards

  • All submissions need to display a solid grasp of artistic principles.
  • All submissions need to be presented in a legible / readable format.
  • The chosen medium (image, video) needs to be of a high quality.
    • Traditional media needs to be either scanned properly or photographed with good lighting and contrast.

You should use tools such as SauceNAO to ensure you are posting the highest quality available version of images. Our How To: Sites and Sources page is a good resource for which sites have the best versions, and how to get them.

Edits

  • Edits of images/videos need to be the same quality or higher than the original.
    • For instance, if the original is a 1000x1000 webm and the audio edit is 720x720, this would not be allowed.
    • Low effort edits (adding stories, changing text, bucket fill coloring, cutting out parts, changing skin tones, etc.) are not allowed.
    • Hard translations into English are allowed. We will only host the original language and the English translated versions.
  • Colored bases are not permitted unless the coloring is done by the creator of the base.
    • We will only accept up to 20 versions of any given base.
  • Neural network and AI edits are not permitted, regardless of type of edit (uncensoring, coloring, denoising, etc.).
  • Photomorphs and similar are only permitted if the original reference is not longer distinguishable.
    • If replacing sexual things like genitals, there must be no trace left.

Advertisements

YCH auctions, adoptables, lazily censored paysite previews (such as slapping the patreon logo over genitalia) will almost always be deleted.

  • Signatures and links within images are completely fine.
  • Links to patreon and such are completely acceptable within post descriptions.
    • Do not add profile links to these sites as a source (such as https://patreon.com/user) - if you wish you can add a link to the full post, i.e. https://patreon.com/posts/1234

Humans and Humanoids

Humans (and human-like creatures - "humanoids") are not permitted on their own. The focus of content uploaded must focus on "furry" relevant characters, i.e. anthro & feral. Exceptions are made for ordered sets where the exclusion of images would damage the flow.

  • Anything not containing relevant furry characters as their focus will be deleted.
  • If it appears humanoid it's regarded as humanoid, regardless of lore.
  • Relevant characters should be covered in fur or scales.
    • Animal ears or tails alone (kemonomimi) are not enough to be considered relevant.
    • A humanoid wearing a suit or clothing/accessories is still a humanoid.
    • Robots count as humanoid and are thusly not allowed on their own.

Underage Characters / "Cubs"

Human/humanoid underage characters are not permitted in any capacity.
While "furry" underage characters are not explicitly disallowed, any images containing them will be heavily scrutinized, and run the risk of being deleted for any number of unlisted reasons.
In general, extreme subjects such as abuse, rape, torture, pedophilia (adult characters preying on minors), and anything of the sort will be deleted on sight.
Use common sense when determining if an image containing an underage character would be allowed.
If in doubt, ask us, or assume it would not be allowed.
It would likely be better to post this kind of content on sites that explicitly allow it, such as https://e621.net or https://inkbunny.net.
