Replacements are a system that allows replacing the image of an existing post, be it with a higher quality version, a fixed version, or for any other reason. All users have access to replacements by default, but an Approver has to approve/reject them.

The advantage over uploading a new image is keeping the original comments, as well as not breaking any old links to the post. This is the preferred method to fixing a post.

To make a replacement, simply follow these steps.

1. Go to the post you wish to replace, and click the "Replace image" link on the left side.

2. Attach the image or fill in the url. Only some urls can be uploaded from directly. See Upload Whitelist for more information.

3. Add the source where you found this new image. Do not add just profile links (such as https://twitter.com/femboydotfan) or random text.

4. Fill in the reason why this image should replace the existing image.

5. Click "Upload" and wait. Replacements have no time limit to be handled, so be patient.
