howto:tag genders

Edited are restricted to Janitor users and above.

Gender tagging is generally outside of the realm of our Tag What You See policy, as long as the information is correct and not conflicting with the visuals presented in the image. For instance, if a masculine character has a pussy, the character should not be tagged male. Instead, the character should be tagged andromorph. For situations in which the correct gender of the character cannot be tagged, lore tags should be used instead. These are purely based on outside information, and should not be used if the gender tags are correct (such as pairing male with male_(lore)).

This policy can be discussed in Topic: Gender Tagging Questions.

Tagging Guide

When a character's gender is unknown, does not have an established gender, or that gender does not with within the restrictions above (conflicting information), the guide below can be used to determine which tags should be used. Note that this is not the be-all end-all of gender tagging, and as this guide is tailored to anthro characters, it may not apply well to feral characters or other forms where sexual dimorphism is not as prevalent.

See masculine and feminine for how to determine which a character is. Note these are purely body types and not based on clothing, makeup, or anything else of the typical femboy or tomboy.

Penis or Pussy?

Gender Tags

Note that masculine and feminine can apply to any and all genders. See their wiki pages for how to determine which a character is. Clothing, makeup, or anything else of the typical femboy or tomboy should not be used to determine this.

Lore Tags

Lore tags can be suggested in Topic: Lore Tag Suggestions.
