Blacklist

The blacklist is a versatile tool used to hide posts members do not wish to see.
Just like when searching, it is important to use underscores rather than spaces for tags that are comprised of multiple words.
For instance, use "western_dragon" instead of "western dragon". The first would blacklist the western_dragon species, the latter would blacklist any dragon in a western setting.

You can edit your blacklist by going to Account -> Settings.
Keep in mind that complaining about the contents of posts rather than blacklisting them is against our Code of Conduct.

Important!

If you are having trouble getting an image blacklisted, please make sure that it is tagged correctly.
If it is not, add the relevant tags, and report the uploader if they repeatedly do not tag commonly blacklisted things.

Did your blacklist suddenly stop working? Ensure you didn't accidentally hit the quick toggle.

The blacklist works similar to search. Each line is parsed individually. Most features that work in search will also work in the blacklist.

Default and Global Blacklist

When you are not logged in, the following tag combinations are blacklisted by default:

feces
watersports
cub -rating:s
real fursuit -rating:s

You may edit that blacklist at any time by going to the posts page and clicking on "Blacklist" in the subnavbar.

One Tag Per Line

The simplest blacklist has all tags on separate lines.
For example:

male
anal
cub

This approach will hide all images with the entered tags.
ALL male images, ALL images with an anal, and ALL cub images.

If an image has any of these tags, it will be hidden.

Combined Tags

Just as with searches, tags in the blacklist can be combined by entering them on the same line, separated by a space.
Each line is regarded separately, images with ALL the tags on a given line will be hidden, but each line will be taken individually.
For example:

female fox nude
herm wolf anal_penetration

In the first example, all images involving nudity, females AND foxes will be hidden.
Presumably, that line would used if you don't want to see naked female foxes — however, be aware that if there's a naked male fox with a female skunk, that image may also be hidden.

For the second example, any images involving herms, wolves AND anal_penetration will be hidden.
However, an image with female wolf anal_penetration will still be displayed for you.

This approach is best used for more specific examples then those shown.
A more commonly used combined blacklist entry is male solo, or female solo. These hide all 'pin up' pictures of a member of a given gender.
This can also be used if you dislike how a specific artist draws a species, or if you don't want to see their explicit artwork (see below for more on explicit and non-explicit artwork).

Tag Operators

Just like with a search, you may use the - and ~ operators in the blacklist.
However, keep in mind that the blacklist is subtracted from the search – that means that tags prefixed with a - suggests that you want to see that content.

-female

This, for example, ensures that any picture NOT tagged with 'female' will not display.
This is more useful then blacklisting 'male' if you don't mind seeing pictures of males, as long as there are females in the image.

pokemon -pikachu

This example would remove ALL pokemon images from view, UNLESS pikachu is also tagged.
This is useful if you only like one specific type of something. (alternatively: canine -fox, scalie -breasts)

fox -wolf -lion

This one is a bit more complicated: this would hide all fox images that do not have wolves, or do not have lions.
So, a picture of fox alone, or a fox and a bear/goat/horse/etc. would be removed, but a fox and a lion, or a fox and a wolf would be kept.

Ratings

You can read more about ratings and how they apply to posts here.

Every image on the site has a rating. These ratings are as follows:

  • Explicit - Genitals, sex acts, detailed bulges, scatplay/watersports, and any other heavy fetish content.
  • Questionable - Anything between safe and explicit - topless females and suggestive poses.
  • Safe - Posts that can be viewed in public without much scrutiny: no genitals, no sexual overtones, no fetishes.

If desired, you can blacklist entire ratings to never see anything of that nature. For example, to hide all explicit posts, add rating:explicit to your blacklist. To hide anything but safe posts, add -rating:safe to your blacklist.

Additionally, you can use ratings with the other methods listed on this page:

rating:explicit female

Hide all explicit images with females in them.

rating:explicit solo male

Hide all explicit images that only have a single male in them, but allow both rating:explicit male and rating:explicit solo.

Specific Posts

In some cases you may find that no tag covers an image you want to blacklist, or you only dislike that specific image. In both cases, you can add just that post to your blacklist.
To do this, find the ID of the post, which is located on the left side of the post under "Information". Take this number, and prepend id: to it.

id:42
id:621
id:8675309

This would hide posts 42, 621, and 8675309 from your search.

Specific Users

Some users may consistently upload content you do not like. To hide posts from a specific user, go to their profile and click the "Block" button. Check the "Hide Uploads" option.
For more information about blocking users, see its full article.

Quick Toggles

On most pages where post thumbnails are displayed, there are quick toggles to easily disable and enable any (or all) entries of your blacklist.
The toggles are located directly below search bar inside the "Blacklisted(x)".

To disable all entries at once simply click the "Disable all".
To enable all entries again click "Re-enable all".

To enable or disable individual entries click the "Blacklisted (x)" header and then the entry you'd like to toggle.
Any struck through entry has been disabled, and they're regular if they're enabled.
